Welcome to Jellytots!
A bit about us!
We are a parent run playgroup based at Brimscombe Church of England Primary School which was re-launched in January 2014. We run every Friday morning from 9-11am during term time and are fortunate to be based in the spacious school hall. We offer a comprehensive range of activities for children from birth to 5 that are stimulating and fun and provide opportunities for you to spend quality time with your child. We always offer a craft activity – (sometimes quite messy!), a tactile area and encourage physical and imaginative play. We have a designated baby area and facilities for baby changing. We have healthy snack time and end our sessions with interactive stories and songs.
Come and have some fun!
Our signing in book is located near the entrance please sign yourself and your children in as soon as you arrive. It is important to know who is present in a session and how many we have attending for fire safety regulations. Please could you also sign out if you leave the session early so we know you have left the building. We charge a £2.50 fee per family for each session.
Although every care will be taken to ensure the safety of the children at Jellytots they do remain your responsibility at all times. Please be aware that there will be other users within the school building.
Please make sure the entry door is closed behind you, as children may be able to run out.
Smoking is not allowed at any time anywhere within the school perimeter.
We need to keep doorways clear for everyone’s safety. Please leave your
prams/buggies under the shelter outside or inside the hall ensuring fire exits are left clear at all times. Sleeping babies must not be left unattended in buggies/carriers.
All little ones need to be escorted to the toilet located in the corridor to the left, opposite the school office. Disabled facilities are also available and baby changing is located in the disabled toilet. Please remember to take home any nappies with you.
Please do be careful with your tea and coffee as these can cause a nasty scald if knocked over or picked up by little hands. We ask that you remain close to the tea/coffee table when drinking your hot drink.
We have our own basic first aid kit and accident book which is located near the refreshments area. There are registered first aiders in school. In the event of any accident please come and get help by approaching Tiffanie Smith or any of the Jellytots organisers. We will need to record any accidents that require first aid treatment in the accident book.
Happy play for all
The organisers of Jellytots all have young children of their own and are well aware of the challenges that face toddlers when they first start to socialise in this kind of setting. We are a relaxed and friendly group and will always encourage children to be kind to each other at all times and, although we are not experts, we will happily support any parent or carer who needs any practical help or advice dealing with any concerns about their child’s behaviour at Jellytots.
Occasionally we ask our school photographer to take photographs of a special event for use on the Jellytots page of the school website see - http://www.brimscombe.gloucs.sch.uk .
We will ask your permission before taking any photographs and we will not use the photographs on any form of social media.
If you want to take any photographs of your own child at Jellytots (including the use of mobile phones and devices) and other children are in the picture then please seek the permission of adult accompanying the child. Please do not put any group photographs of children on any form of social media unless every parent involved consents.
We are a parent run group and any help you can offer during the session with jobs like tidying up and snack time is always greatly appreciated, as long as your child is happily occupied.
We are constantly thinking of new and different ways to improve what we do and we value any thoughts you may have on any aspect of the group and how it is run. What works well and what can be improved are questions that you can have valuable input on.
Please feel free to make suggestions to Tiffanie or leave us a note in the cash box.
