Physical Development
Physical Development is an important part of children’s growth in the Early Years and supports both their health and their learning. We provide regular opportunities for children to develop their gross motor skills through climbing, balancing, running, jumping and outdoor play, as well as their fine motor skills through activities such as drawing, cutting, threading and mark making. As children develop strength, coordination and control, they also grow in confidence and independence, preparing them well for writing and other everyday tasks.
Intent
Our intent is to provide children with the foundations for a healthy, active life by developing their strength, coordination, balance and control. We want children to grow in confidence in both gross and fine motor skills so that they are physically prepared for learning, self-care and early writing.
