About us

The Friends of Brimscombe School, affectionately known as FOBS, work closely with the school staff to: raise money, support the school and make a difference for the children. Membership of FOBS is open to all families and carers of children at Brimscombe School.

Keep up to date by becoming a member of the 'Friends of Brimscombe School' Facebook page! Search 'Friends of Brimscombe School' & ask to become a member.

What we do

We organise regular social events throughout the school year, the two largest being the Summer and Christmas Fairs, as well as taking part and benefitting from the Brimscombe and Thrupp Grand Village Fete. We arrange of mixture of family-friendly events  like: bingo evenings quizzes, discos and some that are just for adults, for example Safari Suppers, Balls, curry nights or outings.

To support the school’s eco status, and as a useful source of funds we organise collections of things for recycling, for example old clothes and jewellery.

One of our most popular activities is the Friday Cake Raffle. Each Friday we take it in turns to donate a home-made cake. Tickets are sold in the morning and the winner is announced in Celebration Worship (open to everyone at 2.55pm).

Funding

FOBS are proud to support the school by helping to pay for additional equipment and materials, and by subsidising school trips. In this way every single child at the school benefits from our efforts. Over recent years we have contributed to refurbishing the school library, providing outdoor buildings and paying for coaches for school trips.  Over the next three years FOBS has also committed to helping to fund some exciting new IT equipment to enhance the children's learning.

How you can help

Helping with FOBS is a great way to get involved in school life, make new friends and support the children at the school. Every year we need new people to join the committee, to organise events and fundraising.

Or, for people with less time, you can join in by helping run a stall for an hour or two at one of our events, donating things for us to sell or by making a cake for the Friday raffle. Even just coming along to one of our social events or buying a few raffle tickets helps. Every little thing helps us to help the school.
