In these challenging times, the school will do everything it can to keep your children safe. Below is further information about the school's response to Covid -19. If you have any concerns or queries please don't hesitate to contact the school.
Remote learning at Brimscombe.
Our school uses Seesaw as the remote platform for posting reading, writing and maths work, Teachers also post daily curriculum subject content as well as regular feel good activities to support mental health.
Remote learning will begin on the first day of any school closure and parents/carers will be sent a QR code from which they can access Seesaw/ Zoom.
The school remotely delivers a balance of live teaching - (arithmetic and phonics) as well as recorded sessions and links to the Government Oak Academy and other online resources. The day begins with an introductory video by the class the class teacher outlining the timetable and content. Some children and groups receive guided sessions live and there are several opportunities a day for zoom catch up meetings. The remote provision will broadly match what the children would be learning in school.
The school enhances the learning week with whole school collective worship and whole school activities such as: a weekly cook along, Brimscombe marathon challenge, virtual disco and others.
The learning provided should require around three hours to complete per day.
We recognise that supporting your child with remote learning can be very challenging for busy parents. Therefore within the remote provision there are many independent activities that require little adult supervision.
Teachers and teaching assistants will provide daily feedback on children's learning and, when appropriate, offer constructive feedback and supplementary questions and challenges.
We encourage any parents/carers who may be struggling with technology to approach the school for support. A hard copy of all remote learning content can be requested by contacting the office.
We pride ourselves on our support for families. Parents/Carers are very welcome to contact teachers or the headteacher if they have any concerns.
