Child Protection Policy

Our Child Protection and Safeguarding Policy sets out our approach to:

  • Protecting children from harm, whether that occurs within school, at home, online or in the wider community.
  • Identifying children who may need help and recognising the signs that a child may be experiencing abuse, neglect or exploitation.
  • Taking prompt action and ensuring that concerns are reported immediately and dealt with appropriately.
  • Working with other agencies and collaborating with the local authority children's social care, the police and other professionals to safeguard children.
  • Creating a culture of vigilance and maintaining an attitude of "it could happen here.

This policy is based on statutory guidance, including:

  • Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSiE) 2025, which is the statutory safeguarding guidance for schools;
  • Working Together to Safeguard Children, which is guidance on multi-agency working;
  • Section 175 of the Education Act 2002, which requires schools to make arrangements to safeguard and promote the welfare of children.

This policy is reviewed annually by our governing body to ensure it remains effective and compliant with current legislation.
