We are delighted to welcome you to our EYFS class incorporating Robins (reception) and Ladybirds (preschool). We are guided by our school motto, “Let love and kindness be the motivation behind all you do,” We also strive to show our core Christian values of kindness, courage, respect, friendship and responsibility, encouraging children to support one another, make positive choices and take pride in who they are.

Our teacher, Mrs Blanch, is currently on maternity leave, so we have a fantastic new teacher called Miss Llewellyn who works alongside Mrs Birchley and Mrs Oliver.

Together we create a safe, joyful place where children feel secure and happy to play and learn together. The transition from Ladybirds to Robins every September is seamless for Ladybird children, as they are already familiar with their new reception teacher and the layout of the area, as access is available for most of the day.  

In both classes, we aim to create a life-long love of learning through exploration, high-quality teaching and texts, supported adult-led tasks and child-initiated play. Learning is also supported through continuous provision, which can be accessed by both classes and outdoors. Different ages and abilities benefit from this freedom to explore, with valuable adult interactions from children's verbal and non-verbal communications, extending language and knowing when to stand back to observe child-led learning. Continuous provision is extended and enriched through our knowledge of each child's interests and needs.

Our classes provide a safe, nurturing environment where each child is encouraged to be the best they can be and where it is safe to make mistakes because the adults are here to help them to learn. With wonderful indoor and outdoor learning spaces and resources, our youngest children have the best possible holistic start in their journey through education.

We accept children into Ladybirds preschool from their 3rd birthday. If you would like your child to continue their journey through Brimscombe Primary school into Robins reception, please make sure you register your child and are aware of our school admission policy. Parents can use 15hrs or 30hrs of government funding towards childcare costs, each additional session (9am-12 or 12-3pm) costing £13.50.

Ladybirds preschool is open from 9am until 3pm Monday to Friday term time only.
