Welcome to Year 6 – Otter Class!  

Welcome to Otter Class, a kind nurturing environment full of fun, learning and mutual respect for one another. We are guided by our school motto, “Let love and kindness be the motivation behind all you do,” we also strive to show our core Christian values of kindness, courage, respect, friendship and responsibility, encouraging children to support one another, make positive choices and take pride in who they are.

In Otter class, we strive to make our children the best version of themselves, so high expectations of learning and behaviour are paramount. We teach through lessons that are fun, interactive and engaging to help the children become fully invested in their learning, taking this love of learning outside the classroom allowing the children to follow their own ideas and passions.

We strongly encourage good attendance, as being in school every day helps children both feel like part of the school/class and feel like they are confident and keeping up with the learning expected of them. It also allows the children to follow the sequences of learning that are being taught so they do not miss out on small steps that build towards a bigger goal. I am always outside each morning to warmly welcome the children into class, and while a lot of Year 6 children walk to school by themselves, I am always happy to talk to parents or carers on the phone or via email if they have a question about the school, or their child's learning.

Together, we aim to nurture confident, kind learners who are ready to reach their full potential.
