We were visited by a local geologist this afternoon and she talked to the class about rocks, minerals and fossils. We then went up to the field to see what we could uncover and sorted our findings out depending on their unique properties.
We have started learning about rocks in Science this half-term. Today, the children used microscopes to identify different types of rock and then took part in an enquiry where they identified the unique properties of specific rocks. Great work!
To support their learning in History, Kingfisher class visited the Corinium museum in Cirencester. They took part in a range of learning activities in their workshop and even managed to dress up as Romans!
Kingfisher class had the task of composing music to go with story writing. They worked in groups, one reading a passage full of suspense, while the rest played along. Noisy fun and some very creative responses and written notation.
