Class trip to Copsegrove Farm

To finish off our topic Stone Age we went on a class trip to Copsegrove Farm.

We had a magnificent day at Copsegrove farm, the children were in high spirits due to the wonderful activities planned and the sun shining!

We started off the day with marshmallows and biscuits (which was a massive hit!) followed by a hunt round the woods looking for animals and tools which may have been used in the Stone Age, the children needed to collaborate in groups and stay together.

We split off in groups and started our small group activities.

Here are the children making wild garlic wraps which we then roasted on the fire, they were DELICIOUS!

We built shelters out of natural materials in the woods and had the freedom to explore.

We also looked at some animals skeletons and skulls, the children were great at guessing which animals they might have come from, looking closely at the teeth and size of the skull!

The students, staff and volunteers had such a lovely time at Copsegrove farm. From the moment we stepped off the coach, Kate was waiting for us with everything brilliantly organised, resulting in the children having the most wonderful day! The children were able to explore freely in such a beautiful, safe setting which made the day feel relaxed for everyone. Each activity was well planned and thought through thanks to the amazing Kate.

Thank you so much for a great experience, we will definitely be coming back!
