Today pupils where learning about where the Anglo-Saxons came from and where they settled in Britain. We looked at a map of Britain and found place names with Anglo-Saxon origins like 'bury' and 'port.' We also found towns and cities with Roman place names with 'ester' on the...

The children created dens similar to that which mythical creatures might have lived in. They then wrote some fantastic sentences linked to our English book- Beowulf.

Kingfisher class were learning about the Norweigian artist Edvard Munch and produced some fantastic artwork in his unique style. They also compared the UK to his native homeland of Norway.

Today we had a look at some of David Hockney's landscape paintings of the Yorkshire wolds.  We looked at the colours he uses and the way he uses patterns in his paintings. We had a little go ourselves at mixing the colours.
