Some of our children used pizzas as part of their equivalent fractions learning today. They used pizza slices to represent halves and quarters. Great work all!
Kingfisher class have started learning about equivalent fractions in Maths this week. Today, they used fraction walls and other resources to solve a range of fluency, reasoning and problem-solving challenges.
Kingfisher class looked brilliant today as they came to school dressed as some of their favourite book characters. They then took part in some 'buddy reading' with the older children and finished off the day with a book swap!
Today we began our sewing project practising running stitch, blanket stitch and cross stitch. After the tricky business of threading the needles pupils made great progress experimenting with designs and stitching fabric.
In computing this half-term Kingfisher class have focused on writing for different audiences. Today, they designed their own online game and managed to clearly explain how to navigate it using clear and appropriate language.

In their writing lessons, Kingfisher class have been writing newspaper reports. They have linked their newspaper reports with their learning in History and have reported on the Anglo-Saxon invasion in 450 AD!
As part of their learning about plants, Kingifsher class set up an enquiry to investigate the effects of temperature, light and lack of water on plants. They will observe any changes over a two-week period and report on their results.
Today was the final session in our sequence of learning all about David Hockney. The pupils used acrylic paint on canvass to produce their own landscape masterpieces.
