Dragonfly Class spent the first afternoon of Enrichment Week with Carrie in the outdoor learning area.
Kingfisher class enjoyed a brilliant day of activities at Copsgrove Farm today. They started the day off with a tug of war and in doing so learnt how pulleys can be used practically on the farm. They then took part in a day of challenges including cooking, den building, animal skull identification and creating obstacles using a range of resources. We all had a brilliant time!
Kingfisher class were visited by Steve, from STEM WORKS, today. During their workshop they focused on the electrical systems aspect of the DT curriculum and designed and made their own electrical toy.
Kingfisher class hosted a samba concert this morning to showcase their fantastic learning over the last 10 weeks. They took part in whole class and group productions with children even producing their own samba arrangements! A big thank you to Lee from Gloucestershire Music for all of her hard work with the children as well as the parents who all joined in for a special performance!
In Science, Kingfisher class have been learning about the earth's movement. Today they carried out a practical enquiry which focused on understanding the relationship between the earth's axis, rotation and night and day. Great work everyone!
Kingfisher class had a Science day today to finish off their learning about sound. The day involved three practical experiments, learning about how sound travels, testing which materials are best for sound insulation and measuring the relationship between volume and distance using an online decibel meter!
