Our year sixes visited Wilmslow House a care home in Nailsworth.  Their topic is 'time for a change' all about history, so our children went to talk to the residents about their lives. 

The stories the residents  told were amazing: being bombed out in the blitz, getting the cane at school, being evacuated to Norfolk and even finding an unexploded bomb. The residents were also full of pearls of wisdom for our young learners.

This was a really good experience and, as well as being an opportunity for our pupils to meet new people and listen to stories,they brightened up the day for all the residents too.
