Spoken Language
Our spoken language curriculum is built on three core elements: Language, Thinking and Communication.
Children are taught how to use precise vocabulary, develop and explain their ideas and communicate effectively with others.
These foundations underpin success in both reading and writing, enabling children to understand complex texts and express themselves with clarity and confidence.

Communication and Language in Early Years
In our early years, we place communication and language at the heart of children’s learning.
We use the ShREC approach (Share attention, Respond, Expand, Conversation) to support high-quality interactions throughout the day, helping children to become confident communicators through meaningful back-and-forth exchanges.
