Behaviour Policy

We believe that excellent behaviour is essential for creating a safe, happy and purposeful learning environment where every child can thrive. Our behaviour policy sets our approach to promoting positive behaviour, supporting children to make good choices and responding consistently and fairly when behaviour falls short of our expectations.

Our Vision for Behaviour

We are committed to:

  • Creating a culture of respect and kindness where all members of our school community treat each other with dignity and consideration
  • Setting high expectations for all, believing that every child can meet our standards of behaviour with the right support
  • Being fair and consistent by applying our policy across the school while taking individual circumstances into account
  • Supporting children to learn from their mistakes by using behaviour incidents as opportunities for learning and growth
  • Working with families, recognising that the best outcomes are achieved when school and home work together.

This policy is based on:

  • Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSiE) 2025, which requires our behaviour policy to include measures to prevent bullying and child-on-child abuse
  • The Equality Act 2010, which requires us to eliminate discrimination and make reasonable adjustments for disabled children and those with Special Educational Needs.
  • Section 89 of the Education and Inspections Act 2006, which gives staff the power to use reasonable force in certain circumstances.

This policy is reviewed annually by our governing body to ensure it remains effective and compliant with current legislation.
