School Meals
At Brimscombe, the children have the choice of a cooked meal or sandwiches from home. Children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 are entitled to a FREE hot meal each day as part of the Universal Infant Free School Meals (UIFSM) scheme introduced in September 2014.
In addition to this, parents and carers who are in receipt of certain benefits can apply for free school meals. For every child that is entitled to free school meals the school receives extra funding to enhance provision and improve progress and outcomes for children. So please apply even if you do not wish to take up your free school meal.

Cooked lunches are provided by The Great Plate who provide nutritionally balanced meals at an affordable price. These are cooked and delivered daily from another local school. A main meal and dessert costs £2.85 a day for years 3, 4, 5 & 6 which is paid for through the ParentPay system.
Each day the children have a choice of three main courses which are selected as part of morning registration. Meals are ordered on the day and you can choose daily whether your child will have a school meal or packed lunch. If you know your child will be late to school, please call and book their meal before 9.30am.
Those children who prefer to bring sandwiches are encouraged to bring a healthy combination of food; sandwiches, pasta, salad, yoghurts and fruit rather than chocolate or crisps. Please never send your child to school with any food containing nuts for snack or lunch, as there are children in the school who have nut allergies.
